Our Story — A Legacy in Every Joint

Southern Woodcrafters is more than a business — it’s a legacy, handed down one cabinet, one corner joint, one moment of care at a time.

Founded by Thumper Pigg, a second-generation wood craftsman.

Passion

Hi there. My name is Thumper Pigg and I am a second generation wood craftsman.

My dad, Danny Pigg, began cabinet making in 1975 and has produced some of the most beautiful cabinetry any eye has seen.

Growing up in a cabinet shop has given me a passion and the skillset needed to make the cabinets and furniture of your dreams.

This is a craft that I hope to pass down to my children.

That's why I want to make you cabinets and furniture pieces that will last for generations to come.

Skill

I remember being a boy in my dad's shop and was trying to build something.

I do not even remember what it was. Well, things were not fitting as well as they should and out of frustration, I said, "Oh well."

That's when my dad looked at me in straight in the eyes and told me, "Son, there is a right way to do things." This advice has stuck with me and is why one of my core values is excellence.

You pay hard earned money for the cabinets and furniture we make, so it needs look good, fit well, and last for a long, long time.

Integrity

We have all been there.  We hire work to be done and the contractor or builder says it will be completed on such and such date for a given amount of money. That date comes and that date goes and the work is not completed.  Your time is valuable to me.

While things do come up that are not in anyone's control (such as weather, product availability, etc.), I strive to give you a reasonable timeline to have your work completed. I also ensure that the price I quote you is the price you will pay. If I under bid a project, I eat the cost and count it as a learning experience.

So Southern Woodcrafters is more than a business — it’s a legacy, handed down one cabinet, one corner joint, one moment of care at a time.

That same mindset shapes every project we take on today. We don’t cut corners. We don’t guess. We don’t say “good enough.” Because your home deserves more than average — it deserves cabinetry built with intention, made to fit, and ready to last.

For us, it’s not just about wood and hardware. It’s about creating pieces that hold memories, anchor rooms, and feel like they’ve always belonged.
